Defining cycles - Additional Pivot Attributes tab
The Additional Pivot Attributes tab describes
the additional dimensions to add/include in the cycle when working within the worksheets. The
additional dimensions are based on the attributes available within the base level item and
location code list of each module. This offers a flexible way of viewing the data.
For example, if you must view items by brand and by packaging, you can select Brand and Packaging as additional pivot attributes. As a result, you can view the data by different packaging across all brands, by different brands across all packaging, or by a combination of these.
Additional pivot attributes list the pivot attributes which appear as additional dimensions
within the worksheets for the appropriate module. The pivot attributes act as additional
groupings on item or location data in addition to the selected dimension of the Data
Context.
Note: For each module, you can specify a maximum of five item attributes and five
location attributes.
You must click ‘
’ and specify this information to define additional pivot attributes:- Module
- The module in which the additional pivot attribute is used in the worksheet.
- Type
- The type of planning hierarchy (base-level code list) from
which attribute is considered. Possible values:
- Item
- Location
- Attribute
- The attribute available for the Module and Hierarchy Type
combination. These attributes are available for selection:
- Item attributes of the type Text that are specified in the code list of the Item Hierarchy, which is specified on the Cycles page.
- Location attributes of the type Text that are specified in the code list of the lowest level of the location hierarchy specified on the Cycles page, for the selected module.
Note: Attribute based on numeric data are not available for selection as additional pivot attribute because the attribute values are used to define the dimension element names, which currently supports only the text elements. - Include Hierarchy
- Indicates the hierarchy that can be defined for the pivot
attribute. Possible values:
- On: A defined hierarchy of two or more levels with additional grouping levels.
- Off: Two-level hierarchy with a top-level (element).
- Hierarchy
- The hierarchy generated from the pivot attribute data (if
applicable).Note:
- This option is enabled, only if the Include Hierarchy check box is set to On.
- The hierarchy must contain elements that match the distinct elements of the pivot attribute (validated via setup check).
- The pivot attribute is defined with a hierarchy to add grouping (levels) of distinct elements when viewing/selecting the pivot dimension within worksheets.
- Top Level
- The name of the top element to which the pivot attribute is
linked.Note:
- Each pivot attribute available for selection is displayed in worksheets as a two-level hierarchy. This hierarchy contains distinct entries for the selected attribute and a top-level grouping element (the top element).
- This option is displayed, only if the Include Hierarchy check box is set to Off.
You can use Additional Pivot Attribute page to:
- Modify the parameters of the existing Additional Pivot Attribute by double clicking on the required row.
- Delete the existing Additional Pivot Attribute using the option.
