Defining system macros
You can define or edit the system macros, which are executed in a global context and are not specific to a cycle period or scenario.
To define or edit a system macro:
- Select Configuration > Cycle > Macros.
- Select a macro and click Details.

On the
Macro page, click
Edit. Specify this
information:
- Name
- Specify the name of the macro.
- Display Name
- Specify the name to be displayed in the application. This is an optional field.
- Users
- Select or specify the users who can access the selected macro.
- System
- Indicates whether the macro is system generated.
- Type
- The type of macro. Select System.
- Module
- The module for which the macro is applicable. This field is not applicable for macros of the type, System.
- Tags
- The tag linked to the macro. Select from a list of pre-defined tags displayed in the Tags window. You can link one or more tags to a calculation rule. This option is used to group common elements, which can be linked to entities such as measures or worksheets.
- Roles
- Select or specify the roles that have access to the macro.
- On the Details tab, click New.

In the
Step window, specify this information:
- Command
- Specify the command that must be executed. A command consists
of a function and parameters. For example,
SaveDiscardScenarios("Normal (M)","","","","","600")
.Note: Each step consists of a command and is executed in a sequence. - Description
- The description of the step.
- Click Submit and Back to List.
