Searching the audit log

You can search the audit log for the related data and optionally, save the search.

To search the audit log:

  1. Access the Audit Log page. A chronological list of audit log messages is displayed.
  2. Click Show More next to Search.
  3. Specify this information:
    Function
    The element responsible for the message. For example, Workflow, Cycle Period.
    Code
    An internally created reference of audit log messages.
    Severity
    The severity of the audit log event. Possible values:
    • Information
    • Warning
    • Alert
    • Critical
    Note: If this value is not specified, all values are considered.
    User
    The user associated with the change that triggered the log event.
    Date After
    The date after which the audit log is generated.
    Note: If the value for Date Before is specified, this field indicates a search range based on the entries created between the specified dates, inclusive of Date After. For example, a search after 26/05 to before 27/05 generates the results created during the 26th.
    Date Before
    The date before which the audit log is generated.
    Note: If the value for Date After is specified, this field indicates a search range on entries created between the specified dates, exclusive of the Date Before.
  4. Specify this information if the Audit log is created in the context of a Cycle, Cycle Period or Scenario.
    Cycle
    The Cycle applicable for the log event. You can select an item from the list, based on the defined cycles. Some messages may not contain a value for the cycle.
    Cycle Period
    The Cycle Period applicable for the log event. You can select an item from the list, based on the defined cycle periods. The values can be filtered based on the selections for Cycle. Some messages may not contain a value for the cycle period.
    Scenario
    The Scenario applicable for the log event. You can select an item from the list, based on the defined scenarios. The values can be filtered based on the selections for Cycle and Cycle Period. Some messages may not contain a value for the scenario.
    Module
    The module for which the log message is generated. You can select an item from the list (Finance, Demand, Supply or Integrated). The values can be filtered based on the selections for Cycle, Cycle Period and Scenario. Some messages may not contain a value for the module.
  5. Specify this information if the Audit log is generated in the context of a Planning Engine:
    Planning Engine Cycle
    The Planning Engine Cycle for which the log is generated.
    Planning Engine Definition
    The Planning Engine Definition for which the log is generated.
    Planning Engine
    The Planning Engine for which the log is generated.
    Note: 
    • If the values for Planning Engine Cycle and Planning Engine Definition is specified, the planning engines associated with the Planning Engine Cycle and/or Planning engine Definition are displayed.
    • If the values for Planning Engine Cycle and Planning Engine Definition is not specified, the list of all the available Planning Engines is displayed.
  6. Click Search. The list of audit log messages is displayed based on these criteria:
    • The log messages which contain all the specified Cycle context search fields and all the Message context search fields.
    • The log messages which contain all the specified Planning Engine context search fields and all the Message context search fields.
    Note: 
    • The fields for which the values are not specified are not considered when displaying the audit log messages.
    • The log messages related to Cycle is adhered to data security, that means the log messages for which a user role is authorized are displayed.
  7. Click Save to save your search.
  8. Specify this information in the Save Search window.
    Add New / Update Existing
    Allows you to create a new search criterion or update an existing search criterion. Possible scenarios:
    • On: Update an existing search criterion. The Saved Searches field is displayed.
    • Off: Create a new search criterion. The New Search field is displayed.
    Note: The owner of the Search criterion can only update an existing Search criterion.
    New Search

    A unique name for the Audit Log search criterion.

    Note: You must be authorized to create public search.
    Saved Searches

    The name of the existing search criterion you want to update.

    Owner

    Indicates the owner of the Search criterion.

    Public
    If this check box is selected, the Search criterion can be accessed by others. Else, the Search criterion is displayed only to Owner.
  9. Click Save. The search is added to the Recent list.
