Editing cycle period scenarios

To edit a cycle period scenario, the status of the scenario and the cycle period must be WIP and Running respectively. If editable, a value is specified in the Editable field on the Scenario Details page, and an open padlock icon is displayed in the Available column of the Scenarios page. A cycle period scenario can be edited manually or by the application.
Note: At any given time, only one user can edit a cycle period scenario.

To manually edit a cycle period scenario:

Cycle period scenarios can be edited manually by one or multiple users.
Note: You can edit the scenario only if the Available check box is selected for the cycle period. These options are enabled for the scenario on the Scenario Details page:
  • Copy
  • Delete
  • Edit
  • Share
  • Change Status
  • Execute Macro
  • Import

On the Scenario Details page, you can click:

  • Edit, to make a cycle period scenario editable for one user.
  • Share, to make a cycle period scenario editable for users specified in the Share Scenario dialog box.

In the Share Scenario dialog box, specify this information:

Users
The users for whom the scenario is editable.
Roles
The user roles for which the scenario is editable.
Share Editable Scenario
If this check box is cleared, only the user who make the scenario editable can edit the scenario.

If a scenario is editable, on the Viewing worksheets page of the relevant module tab, the users for whom the scenario is editable can change scenario data, recalculate, and save the changed data in the worksheets. If a scenario is not editable, worksheets for the scenario on the relevant module tab are read-only.

Note: The user who make the scenario editable or a user with an administrator security permission can submit or discard the worksheet data changes made to an editable scenario. To enable all users to view the changed scenario data, the user who edits the scenario must click Save Scenario Changes and, if an Add Note dialog box is displayed, specify a note that details the changes.

Automatically

For the duration of these editing actions, which you can perform on the Scenario Details page, these action can be performed by the application, the cycle period scenario is editable:

  • Changing the scenario's status on the Change Scenario Status page.
  • Importing scenario data to the current scenario on the Import Scenario Data page.
  • Exporting scenario data from the current scenario on the Export Scenario Data page.
  • Executing a macro for the scenario on the Execute Macro page.
Note: If the status of the cycle period scenario is changed from WIP to Review by the linked workflow definition, the scenario cannot automatically be made editable automatically.
