Generating forecast using My Selection
You can use My Selection as the Item or Location in the Fit Forecast, to generate forecasts.
These conditions are applicable while using My Selection:
- If the Item and/or Location data context is set to My Selection, the level at which the forecast is generated must be set to the Base level, as defined in the cycle for the hierarchy on which My Selection is based. For example, if My Selection is based on an alternative hierarchy the forecast is generated at the Base level of the alternative hierarchy as specified in the cycle definition.
- Validation of the levels is executed when the option is modified or when the selected Forecast Engine is updated.
- If the On and the Item and/or Location element selection is
set to a My Selection, and the selected Forecast Engine (or the level
specified in the rv_forecast_settings worksheet parameter), does not
have the Item or Location level set to the Base of the hierarchy that
is used in the my selection, these actions can be performed:
- The Item and/or Location level is set to Base as defined in the Cycle for the Hierarchy defined in My Selection. For example, if the My Selection is based on an alternative hierarchy defined within the Cycle, the level is set to the Base as specified in the Cycle definition for the alternative hierarchy.
- This message is displayed when forecast level differs from the defined value within
the forecast
engine:
Forecast Item Level has been set to the base level of the hierarchy used by the My Selection, as specified in the Cycle. Forecast Location Level has been set to the base level of the hierarchy used by the My Selection, as specified in the Cycle.
option is set to - If the Off and the Item and/or Location element selection
is set to a My Selection, these actions are performed:
- The Item and/or Location level is set to the Base level, as
defined in the Cycle for the Hierarchy used in My Selection. For example, if the My
Selection is based on an alternative hierarchy that is defined within the Cycle, the
level is set to the Base as specified in the Cycle definition for
the alternative hierarchy.Note: When the option is set to Off, the level is always updated to the applicable Base level, since My Selection is always at a pseudo aggregate and therefore never exists at the Base level.
- This message is displayed when the forecast level differs from the defined value
within the forecast
engine:
Forecast Item Level has been set to the base level of the hierarchy used by the My Selection, as specified in the Cycle. Forecast Location Level has been set to the base level of the hierarchy used by the My Selection, as specified in the Cycle.
option is set to - The Item and/or Location level is set to the Base level, as
defined in the Cycle for the Hierarchy used in My Selection. For example, if the My
Selection is based on an alternative hierarchy that is defined within the Cycle, the
level is set to the Base as specified in the Cycle definition for
the alternative hierarchy.
