Viewing MI data in an embedded worksheet

To view the MI (market intelligence) data in an embedded worksheet, you must access the worksheet of the type, Market Intelligence.

By default, a summary of each MI event which lists the Item, Location, Event MI Value, Start Date, and Reference is displayed. You can use the worksheet toolbar to change the display of data from a simple list view to a filter view.

Note: In the filter view, the option to show or hide data is also available on the toolbar.

These tabs are also displayed in the worksheet:

  • Details
  • Period Share
  • Base Element Spread
  • Note

By default, the MI Events tab is displayed, which contains all the MI events related to the selected record. The Total Value and Total Share Value is the sum of the Value and Share Value columns respectively.

Conditions:

The data context of the worksheet is used to determine the events that must be displayed in the worksheet:

  • MI Events, created and placed either above, below, or at the currently selected item and location rows, are displayed for the selected measure.
  • An MI event that is applicable for the selected period is also included. The date which falls within the range of the start and end dates of the MI event is included.
  • If the measure passed is a Net Forecast Measure, only the MI Events for which the selected measure is of the type, Net Forecast Measure are displayed.
  • By default, the first row in the list is selected. If you select an alternate row, the data of the subsequent Details, Period Share, Base Element Spread, and Note tabs is displayed based on the selection.
    Note: If the worksheet is part of a multi-panel worksheet with links to the item, locations, measure, and periods of other panels, and you modify this data the item, location, measure, or period (in the linked worksheet) is also updated to display the MI Events.

These additional tabs are displayed on the MI Events tab.

MI Events tab

These are the fields that are displayed on this tab:

Fields Description
MI Measure The measure name.
Net Forecast Measure The Net Forecast Measure which is linked to the selected measure.
Status The status of MI Event such as Approved, Rejected, or Pending.
Item The item for which the event is created. Note: This item may not be the selected item, but can either be a parent or child of the item selected.
Location The location at which the event is created. Note: This may not be the selected location, but can be a parent or child of the location selected
Event MI Value The value of the Net MI added for this event.
Share Value The value of the selected item and location.
Number of Periods The number of periods required for the event to run.
Reference The reference field for the MI event, if applicable.
User The user who creates the MI.
Date The date on which the MI is created.

MI Details tab

Field Description
MI Measure The measure name.
Net Forecast Measure The Net Forecast Measure which is linked to the selected measure.
Reference The reference field for the MI event, if applicable.
Original Net Value The original net value (from the Net Forecast Measure) prior to the addition of the MI event.
Event MI Value The value of MI added to the event.
User The user who creates the MI.
Date The date on which the MI is created.
Item The item for which the event is created. Note: This item may not be the selected item, but can either be a parent or child of the item selected.
Location The location at which the event is created. Note: This may not be the selected location, but can either be a parent or child of the location selected
Start Period The start period of the MI event.
Number of Periods The number of periods required for the event to run.
Profile The profile used to calculate the MI across periods. Only displayed if a profile is applicable.
MI Calculation Method The calculation method used to populate the MI data for the New Net Value, Add % of Net, Add % of current MI, or Add Value.
Value The value used in the MI Calculation Method to retrieve the MI Value added for the event. Only displayed, if a value is specified in the Number of Periods field fr which the MI data is added.
Uplift The value used in the MI Calculation Method to retrieve the MI Value added to positive values of the profile. Only displayed, if the profile is used to add the MI data and the profile contains positive values.
Downturn The value used in the MI Calculation Method to obtain the MI Value added for negative profile values. Only displayed if Profile used to add the MI and the profile contains negative values.
Share Across Periods The method used to spread the MI across periods when using the Number of Periods field. The method displayed can be Even or the measure selected to share the MI across the periods. This option is not displayed or applicable when a profile is used.
Base Elements Spread The method used to spread the MI data to the base elements. Either the method, Even is used or the selected measure is used to spread the data. If Base Elements Spread used for Period Spread check box is selected, the Base Element Spread Measure is used to Spread values to the base periods. If cleared, the Cycle Period Spread measure is used to spread values to the base periods.
Note: The information displayed on the Details tab, is based on the row selected in the MI Events tab. This is applicable for all the tabs.

Periods Share tab

Field Description
Event MI Proportion The volume of the MI data that is added to the specified item, location, or period, from this event.
Period The period specified for the MI.
Note: If the MI data is added manually using the Edit Net Forecast Directly option, the periods may not be sequential and only the edited periods are displayed.

MI Base Element Spread tab

Field Description
Item The item that receives a share of the MI data.
Location The location that receives a share of the MI data.
Event MI Proportion The volume of MI data added to the specified item, location, or period from the event.
Period The period for which the MI Event is applicable.
Note: The event details are spread across to the base level of item, location, and period for the selected MI Event.

Note tab

Field Description
Summary The summary of the note specified when the note is created.
Note Type The Note type selected when the event is created
Cycle The cycle during which the note is created.
Cycle Period The cycle period during which the note is created.
Scenario The scenario in which the note is created.
Date The date the note is created.
User The ID of user who creates the note.
Priority The priority of the note specified when the note is created.
Measure The measure (MI) for which the note is created.
Module The module in which the note is created.
Format The format of note. This value is aways set to Log.
Worksheet The worksheet in which the note is created.
Item The item for which the note is specified (this is the item for which the MI Event is created).
Period Tthe first period selected in the worksheet.
Location The location in which the note is created (this is the location for which the MI Event is created).
Include in playbook Indicates if the note is included in the playbook.
Details The details of the Note.
