Clean-in-place tab
- Click Add to add a CIP process step.
-
Specify these settings in the
New CIP Rule window:
- CIP process step
- The name of the CIP process step that is used to create the CIP batch with the default step quantity.
-
Note: If no value is displayed in the list, ensure that these conditions are met:
- A process step of CIP stage type is defined for this resource.
- This step is not already used by another rule for this resource.
- type
- The type of rule for scheduling the CIP batches. Possible values:
-
- Absolute
time: The rule to schedule a CIP batch after the time T
when this condition is verified:
The duration T minus the start of a batch that follows the last CIP batch exceeds a specified duration.
Note: You can select Absolute time to schedule a CIP batch once a day. - Number of
batches: The rule to schedule a CIP batch after a
specified number of batches since the last CIP batch. Note: You must specify Number of batches to schedule a CIP batch after 25 batches.
- Processing
time: The rule to schedule a CIP batch when the sum of
the process segment durations since the last CIP exceeds a specified
duration. Processing time is used to schedule a CIP batch after the
resource is used for a specified amount of time. Unlike absolute time,
processing time does not count the idle time of the resource, for
example, the time between process batches. Note: You can select Processing time if you require to schedule a CIP batch after eight hours of resource utilization.
- Quantity: The rule to schedule a CIP batch when the sum of the batch quantities since the last CIP exceeds a specified quantity.
- Transition
cost: The rule to schedule a CIP batch when the sum of
the transition costs since the last CIP exceeds a quantity.
If the duration or quantity of a batch is not required, specific events require a CIP batch, you can use a cost matrix for modeling. Each batch contributes to the sum of the transition costs since the last CIP. The contribution of a batch is determined by the changeover cost to the batch that follows it.
The cost of the first batch on a resource is determined by the gauge cost, or zero if no gauge cost is specified. The cost of the last batch on a resource is the transition of its criterion to NONE.
Note: If you have specified the Transition cost as the rule type, select the cost matrix to be used. The displayed cost matrices are the cost matrices that are available on the resource. You can select cost matrices for the resource on the Changeover tab of the Resource Entry window. Setup cost is not supported.
- Absolute
time: The rule to schedule a CIP batch after the time T
when this condition is verified:
- Limits
- The lower and upper limits of the rule.
-
Note: If you have selected Number of batches as the rule type, specify the minimum and maximum number of batches.
- The minimum duration, number, or quantity specifies the minimum number of process batches that must be scheduled after a CIP batch.
- The maximum duration, number, or quantity specifies the maximum number of process batches that can be scheduled after a CIP batch.
- If you have specified the Absolute time or Transition cost as the rule type, you cannot specify a lower limit.
- If you specify 0 for the lower limit, the minimum constraint is ignored. If you specify another value as the lower limit, the batches are required after the last CIP, or CIP gauge time when no CIP batch is present yet.
- If you have specified the Transition cost as the rule type, a CIP batch is scheduled before the maximum cost exceeds the sum of the transition costs between batches that have run after the last CIP batch.
- large changeover replaces CIP
- Select this check box if you require a large changeover to count as a CIP batch.
- changeover Limit
- The minimum changeover duration that can count as a CIP batch.
-
Note:
- If this option is enabled and a minimum changeover duration is defined, the CIP counter is reset by the solver each time a large changeover occurs, however, no CIP batch is scheduled. This option is not enabled for the Absolute time as the CIP rules.
- If you select this option, ensure that the corresponding option is selected on the Clean-in-place tab.
- If you select the Absolute time rule type, this option is disabled.
- Gauge point
- The date, time, and duration of the gauge value for utilizing the gauge time.
-
Note: To disable the gauge, you must specify the gauge date to 00-00-0000.
-
Click
OK to save the CIP rule.
Note:
- If several CIP machines run on the same resource using different rules, you can create several CIP rules.
- To delete a CIP rule, select a rule and click Minus on the tab.
