Creating a process step

  1. Select Products > Process Steps. The Process Steps overview window is displayed.
  2. Click New. The New Product window is displayed.
  3. Specify a product code or name and description. Optionally, to select an existing product and description, click Choose and double-click a product.
    Note: You can specify an existing product or if you require to create a new product, specify a new product code.
  4. Select an alternate option from the corresponding list if you require to modify the stage or product group.
    Note: If you are making a process step in an end stage, an end item is automatically created for the main product (unless an end item already exists).
  5. Click OK. The Process Step Entry window is displayed. The General tab is selected by default to specify basic information related to the process step.
    Note: If you only require to create an extra process step for an existing product, you do not require perform an action. A higher version number is assigned to the new step.
  6. Click the Constraints tab to specify the constraints for the process batches and tank batched groups.
  7. Click the By-products tab to specify the yield factors for each by-product.
  8. Click the Custom fields tab to specify the values for the various fields if you have specified process batch custom fields in the Preferences window. However, this may not require as these values are mostly read and written without being modified in Production Scheduling.
  9. Click the Inflow products tab to create or modify inflow product.
  10. Click the Product variants tab to add a product variant to the process step.
    Note: The Product variants tab is only displayed for coupled stages.
  11. Click the Resource claim tab to update only the existing resource claim. You can double click in the segment and update the data for the resource claim.
    Note: If the row is set as default, you require to clear the default check box to update the data.
  12. Click the Resource Groups tab to add, remove or update process or tank resource groups.
  13. Click the Transition tab to define the transition matrices and transition rules.
  14. Click the Utility claim tab to update only the existing utility claims. You can double-click in the segment and update data.
    Note: If the row is set as default, you require to clear the default check box to update the data.
  15. Click OK to save your changes and close the window. Alternatively, continue specifying the values on the tabs of the window.
