Creating a macro
- Select Automation > Macros. The Macros overview window is displayed.
- Click New. The New Macro window is displayed.
- Specify a unique code for the macro.
- Click OK. The Macro Entry window is displayed.
- Specify a description for the macro.
- Select the show in menu check box, if you require to add the macro to the Run Macro sub-menu of the Automation menu.
- Select the with info messages check box, if you require the messages to be displayed in the Messages window.

Select the
run with planning board
closed check box, if you require the planning board to be closed
during the macro execution. Macro performance can be improved by using this
option.
Note: If you select this option, the planning board is closed during the macro execution. After the macro execution, the planning board is reopened.
- Click Plus(+). The Edit Action window is displayed.

Select an action from the action list. New rows are added to the list based on the
selected action type.
Note: You can modify the order of the actions by dragging and dropping the actions in the list.

Specify the description and the condition of the actions. You can
use commas to separate multiple parameters.
These fields are displayed based on the selected action type:
- Search Type and Search
- Status
- Set Start and Set Stop: Specify the start and stop time for the horizon or the work area
- Move Start and Move End: Specify the time period to move the horizon or the work area
- Solver
- Interface Group
- Interface
- Macro
- Path: Specify a file path for back-up

Click
Settings, if available,
and select the required parameters.
- Click OK to enable the settings.
- Click Cancel to close the window.
Note: The Settings option is enabled only if the action requires a parameter with a value. - Click the Documentation tab.
- Specify a description, if you require to add a detailed description about the macro.
- Specify the users who are authorized to utilize the macro, in the Sharing tab.
- Click Save.
