Planning board
Use the planning board for interactive scheduling in Infor Production Scheduling. The planning board is a visual representation of the database wherein the details of user-defined Gantt chart-like views are displayed. The utilization of resources for a time period are displayed in batches. Single or multiple batches can be generated and modified automatically using the scheduling functions. The batches can also be generated or modified manually. The planning board includes an inventory simulation and a utility requirements graph. Symbols, colors, and text are used to provide information related to products, quantities, batch numbers, time segments, time links, and custom fields (for user-defined data). The Zoom option allows you to zoom in and out.
The Resource view is a part of planning board, which occupies most of the planning board area and contains all the batches for the selected scheduling period.
You can reverse the scheduling actions on the planning board by:
- Dragging batches in time or within compatible resources
- Modifying time or segment
- Changing quantity
- Moving to an alternative resource group
- Changing the allocation
This diagram shows the combination of various panes to provide information in the planning board:
You can press and hold the Alt key while selecting Planning Board from the File menu, to open additional planning boards if required to view different periods. For example, you can open a planning board in the quick zoom mode and the other planning board zoomed in on the work area.
A spliced red indicator displays the resources that have made the batch violate the routing constraints, when a batch is dragged to another resource.
You can view various icons on the planning board for a batch. For more details, see Signaling icons on Batches.
