Status of orders and batches
Statuses is a particular combination of status attributes that you can apply to orders, tank batches, process batches, and batch segments. If there is a status associated with an order or a batch, this is displayed in the left column of the order or batch overview window unless the window is customized. Status is used to communicate with ERP and other systems or to freeze schedules at the time of publication. The Statuses overview window displays the codes and the symbols for the status.
Lock a batch to:
- Prevent the batch from being produced or stored on another resource.
- Stop the batch from changing the batch duration.
- Prevent the batch from moving backward or forward in time.
- Stop a part of the batch from moving to another batch.
- Stop anyone from removing the batch.
The items listed here are the attributes of a preset status called Locked. You could define another similar status (for example, My Locked) which omitted item 1. This example applies to whole batches, but many status attributes apply to specific segments of batches.
The show in menu item check box indicates whether the status can be applied using the overwrite status or the update status attributes option from the menu. The difference between these methods is the setting of the status attributes. Status attributes set to None can be updated, while others can be overwritten and cannot be updated.
