Sequences
Sequences are multi-level sort rules that enable you to prioritize or sequence batches based on the batch characteristics such as due time, package size, variable changeover times and product type. These rules are applicable for selection of batches in a production stage and are used to reduce the impact of changeovers. For example, a sequence which automatically schedule and black oil batches after green oil batches to reduce the amount of cleaning required. Sequences can be used directly in the sequence list boxes when scheduling process batches and distributing process batches.
- Sorting a batch on a field for a related order or end item is useful when only one order is associated with the batch.
- It is possible to combine certain entity fields with others by creating cyclic sequences. For example, process batches can be in sequence based on the start time of a batch that is rounded off to a certain period (day, week, 4-week period or month).
Sequences are based on values in fields related to an entity. Values of end time for process batches are sorted to ensure Just In Time production.
