Replenishment inventory

Replenish is a form of backward planning that creates batches to replenish inventory points to the standard inventory level. This is applicable for products with a cover period and an inventory interval. Replenishment batches are typically used for scheduling the inflow products.

To replenish the inventory you can:

  • Select one inventory point in an inventory simulation and select Replenish from the Inventory menu. The Replenish window is displayed.
  • Select more than one inventory point in an inventory simulation and select Replenish from the Inventory menu. Batches are created using the default production step and the standard batch quantity.
Note: You can override the replenishment strategy.

You can select manual or automatic mode for replenishment:

  • The automatic mode uses the defined constraints to create the replenishment batches.
  • The manual mode starts with a suggestion that is based on shortage or overflow. You can specify the exact number of batches and exact quantities.

The inventory profile is ascending and descending wherein the replenishment batches are already defined. Existing replenishment and depletion batches are considered.

If the inventory is below the minimum level at the beginning of the work area, the inventory is first replenished to the minimum level. Later, the inventory is replenished to the selected inventory strategy when required, that is, Just In Time.
