Decoupled
Decoupled is used to describe stages, products, process steps, batches and product flows that are not connected by product flow or time links. Material deliveries are typically decoupled.
For example, a decoupled product can be white stock that has been packaged and stored in the warehouse until required. Later, the white stock is removed from inventory and packaged based on demand, thus consuming the white stock decoupled product. This enables you to view when white stock is produced, the quantity is on hand and when this can be consumed.
