Weight factor

The minimum and maximum weights you can define (in kilograms) for each individual process and tank resource are considered when resources are allocated to batches, check schedule runs and you apply various other scheduling functions.

The quantities are converted to weights as batch quantities can be expressed in volumes or using non-standard weight units. The weight of a process or tank batch (in kilograms) is defined as the batch quantity (in another unit) multiplied by the weight factor. For example, Infor Production Scheduling can check a maximum and minimum weights of resources against 33,000:

Batch Quantity Weight Factor Batch Weight
30,000 liters 1.1 kg/liter 33,000 kg

You are only required to specify a weight factor when there are resource-dependent, such as product-independent, minimum and maximum weights. You can specify a weight factor for each individual product for the tank and process batches when creating a product.
