Setup wizard

You must create an empty database using Microsoft SQL Server before configuring the data model. This database must be dedicated to Infor Production Scheduling. For optimized performances, it is recommended that the database server be accessible from your local network. The database server must be accessible to all Infor Production Scheduling users.

To configure the database, you must have access to the SQL server database.

When you start Infor Production Scheduling and open a local data file, the Setup Wizard is displayed. The Setup Wizard enables you to upload the data file to the data vault.

  1. Click Run.
  2. Perform these actions to configure the data source:
    1. Click ODBC in the Edit Database Connection window.
    2. Select the new data source and click Configure on the User DSN tab of the ODBC Data Source Administrator window. The Microsoft SQL Server Data Source Configuration wizard is displayed.
    3. Select a server for the ODBC connection.
    4. Modify other parameters for the data source, if required.
    5. Test the data source.
    6. Close the Microsoft SQL Server Data Source Configuration Wizard and ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
  3. Select the configured data source in the data source field of the Edit Database Connection window. The connection to the database is established.
  4. Select a log on name and a password, if required.
  5. Click Test. The connection test results are displayed at the bottom of the window.
  6. Click OK to close the Edit Database Connection window.
  7. Click Create Schema. The schema in the database is configured to be used with Infor Production Scheduling.
  8. Specify another data file in the data file location field, if required.
  9. Specify a model name to create a data model.
    Note: The model name enables you to uniquely identify your models. You can have multiple models in a database.
  10. Click Export. The data model is created.
  11. Click OK.
