Status attributes tab

  1. Click the Status attributes tab in the Process Batch Entry window.
  2.  Assign a new status to the batch from the list, if required.
Note: If you set a new status, the data in the General tab is also updated accordingly.
  3. Modify the individual status attributes, if required.
Note: You can modify the attributes that are enabled. The ability to modify the individual attributes is based on the specified status. For example, reg. start in always locks five attributes (gray background) but enabled you to edit the remaining attributes.
    ignore inventory constraint

This attribute is applicable to process batches. You are not required to consider the inventory constraint for a decoupled inflow product. For example, the inventory constraint for a by-product must be considered for a specific process batch.

For example, you require to plan the packaging lines for a set of orders. The delivery of packaging materials has not yet been planned. There are no packaging materials in stock. The inventory constraint is enabled. The packaging batches are displayed in red due to the lack of packaging materials. You require to plan and schedule these packaging batches. You apply the new status attribute that disables the inventory constraint for the packaging batches that you require to schedule. Consequently, you schedule the packaging batches until you are satisfied with their placement. The next step is the packaging material planning via the regular replenish function. You require to send these packaging material call-offs to the supplier and consider them as a given, for example, a constraint. You lock the packaging material delivery batches in time and disable the ignore inventory constraint for the packaging batches. The packaging batches now have an earliest and a latest time that is dictated by the delivery of the packaging materials. This information enables you to schedule the packaging batches such that you do not create a problem with your packaging material delivery.

The new inventory constraint is fully supported by the solver. The enable inventory constraint option and the ignore inventory constraint status attribute for process batches are considered by the solver. If the amount of supply to an inventory point does not match the amount of demand for that inventory point, the balance is corrected internally. If a constraint violation for an inventory point cannot be corrected, the minimum and maximum level constraints are dropped and the solving continues.

After the completion of replenishment or depletion, the Process Batches overview window display the batches that are created.
