General tab

Use the General tab to assign a role to a user. The assigned role determines the user accessibility in the application.

This table shows the standard roles that can be assigned to a user:

Role	Description	Access to master data	Access to schedule data
Administrator	Determines, if a user can access the global preferences and user management functionality.
Modeler	Enables a user to change the factory level information. Master data and schedule data can be modified.	Read and write	Read and write
Scheduler	Enables a user to specify data and schedule orders.	Read-only	Read and write
Production	Enables a user to track the production process on the production floor.	Read-Only	Read-only
Publish	Enables a user only to view the models and publish the data.	Read-only	Read-only

User roles are applicable to all data models. You can combine roles to give a user additional privilege. A user with the Publish and Administrator roles has:

• Read and write access to the administration functions
• Read-only access to the rest of the data

The planners require at least the Scheduler role.
