Process batches
A batch is an uninterrupted activity that is performed between two points in time, occupies one or more resources, and creates a product. A process batch is related to production. A distinctive characteristic is that the inflow of the batch is qualitatively different from the outflow, however, some characteristic of the product is different. Therefore, this is a different entity, whether it is an intermediate or end product in the production flow.
If a process batch is subdivided into several processes, the parts assigned to individual processes are called parallel batches. Each parallel batch occupies one resource. The setup and changeover segments in the parallel batches associated with a process batch can be different due to the different characteristics of each process.
There are two types of process batches, flow and batch.
You can open maximum four Process Batches overview windows.
You can perform these actions on the Process Batches overview window:
- View a selection of batches in the planning board by selecting batches and click the icon.
- Sort the list of batches manually by using the option.
- Use the Status, Start Time, and End Time. option to modify the common properties of the selected Process batch such as
You must complete the beginning steps of a process batch before completing the steps in the following tabs. You can use these tabs on the Process batch entry window:
- General: To specify the generic information about the process batch.
- Orders: To view the orders associated with the process batch.
- Inflow Products: To view the products used in the process batch.
- By-Products: To view a by-products made as a result of this batch.
- Claim and Allocation: To assign resources and utilities required for this batch with the related details.
- Status Attributes: To specify a status and set specific status attributes as required.
- Custom Fields: To specify the values for custom fields that have been defined when defining preferences.
