Creating outflow

  1. Select Batches > Create Outflow. The Create outflow window is displayed.
  2. Select the criteria to create an outflow using the Create option. Possible options:
    • Create batches
    • Add to existing batches
    Note:
    • If the selected batch has end stage batches, you can only select the second option.
    • If you select the Create batches and Add to existing batches options simultaneously, the existing batches are increased to the maximum batch size of the process steps that are involved. A new batch is created.
  3. Select the required check boxes associated with the Add to existing batches option.
    Note:
    • If you select Cover inflow shortage only and Create batches, you can select the From earlier scheduled batches/orders check box.
    • If you select Allow flow constraint violation, the new outflow can violate these constraints:
      • Outflow to at least one tank batch or order.
      • Outflow to at least one process batch.
    • If you select From any cycle, the new outflow can be added to any available existing batch. If this option is not selected, the new outflow is only added to the existing batches that are in the same cycle as the batch from which you are creating outflow.
    • If you select Existing network only, the outflow is added to the existing batches that are connected to the selected batches or orders.
  4. Select the For option and identify the number of stages for creating outflow.
The list contains the maximum number of stages that exist between the selected batch and the end stages (Current, 1, 2, All). You can use current stages to create outflow for process batches in the same stage. Alternatively, you can select the Until stage option and specify the stage up to which the process batches must be included to create outflow.
Note: Current is not a selection if using the Cover inflow shortage only and Create batches options.
  5. Select Push to tank, to shift the created flow from the last process resource to the next tank resource.
You can use this option to create surplus.
Note: If you select this option, the flow ends at a tank resource. Else, the flow ends at a process resource.
  6. Select link to order to view all the products that have orders without inflow.
  7. Select one of these options:
    Schedule batches using stage settings
Specify whether to schedule batches using the stage settings.
    Put on
Specify whether the batch overlaps in addition to one of these options:
    • earliest Start: This is the due date of the orders in the end stage of the batches. This is the latest time for coupled batches, a batch can end while meeting the inflow requirements of dependent batches.
    • start of work area and end of work area: Creates production at the beginning and at the end of the work area.
    • other: A date and time can be specified in the work area when the batch is created.
    Schedule batches
Specify whether the overlapping of batches are prevented.
    Note:
    • This is the most preferred option.
    • If the Schedule batches option is selected and you click Settings, the Schedule Process Batches window is displayed.
    • In the Create outflow window, column widths can be re-sized and stored for each stage. This allows you to determine the size of the column and save the data and minimize horizontal scrolling. The column widths are saved automatically when you close the window.
  8. Specify the quantity corresponding to the target product or products in the Products section. The products that you can create an outflow for are displayed in this section.
    Note:
    • By default, the quantities are specified. You can modify the quantities for different amounts or products.
    • You can also modify the existing quantities to zero.
    • You can re-size the Create outflow window to view the information on process steps, descriptions, resource groups, and resources. The next time you open this window, the size of the window is restored to size you have defined.
    • The specified quantity does not require to be equal to the total surplus amount.
  9. Click OK.
Note:  This option is disabled, if an outflow cannot be created with the current settings. You can view the reason in the Messages section of the window and make the required changes.
