Planning Engine performance improvements

This release includes various improvements to Planning Engine performance, improving the performance of batch processes, and responsiveness when reviewing the plan.

The standard Supply Chain Optimization Planning Engine definition (SP_SCO) includes improvements to query performance and responsiveness of plansheets by persisting properties on import and after successfully running an optimization. Properties are persisted during batch operations, generally scheduled outside of main usage times, to improve responsiveness when later accessing plansheets and plan results. This specifically helps with the usability of the Plan Review and Data Errors plansheets in Planning Engine SCO.

There are optimizations in the Planning Engine infrastructure as described below:

Note:
  • The optimizations to solver setup performance applies to any planning engine, including the standard SCO and Forecast Consumption. This feature is available on upgrade.
  • Improvements to SCO query performance and plansheet responsiveness apply only to Planning Engine SCO, available after loading the template (apsco.zip) for this release.
  • A new role or privilege is not required to access this feature.
