SCO: improvements to negative WIP stock

The SCO Products At Locations properties “start wip stock” and “end wip stock” are now allowed to be negative. This is a relaxing of the constraint to reduce the number of infeasibilities during implementation, reducing the overhead to review these.

The standard SCO Planning Engine definition (SP_SCO) includes a new query to check for Products at Locations with “end wip stock” < 0:

  • Data Error: (Critical) Negative End Wip Stock

Negative “end wip stock” is caused by incorrect data for one of the input properties such as quantity on hand wip, fixed production, firm production, fixed shifted production, firm shifted production, outflow factor, firm released production. Data errors can be reviewed and corrected prior to optimization.

The Data Errors Critical List standard plansheet is updated:

The Data Errors multi-panel plansheet is updated to display the new query result and link to a list of resources with that exception.

Note: This feature is enabled after loading the Planning Engine SCO template (apsco.zip) for this version. The query and related plansheet can only be accessible to new Planning Engines created from the standard PE definition after the content update. A new role or privilege is not required to access this feature.

Also, see the SCO documentation included in the content for additional details and examples of incorrect data related to negative WIP stock.
