Plan Review performance

The default Supply Chain Optimization Planning Engine definition (SP_SCO) is updated to return a snapshot of the costs instead of live costs. This automatically makes such a snapshot of costs after a successful solve in workflow: 100 Solve.

The expensive operation of calculating costs is moved to the existing batch process of the optimization; thus, improving responsiveness and usability when reviewing the plan.

These entities are updated in SP_SCO:
  • Classes:
    • Money
  • Workflows:
    • Added: 200 - Recalculate Costs
    • Updated: 110 - Solve without Init

See Change_log.html, accessible from the SCO Planning Engine documentation in the standard content for additional details on the changes to SCO for this feature.

Users can also recalculate costs on demand by running the "Recalculate Costs" workflow.

This new Planning Engine macro is added to call workflow 200 - Recalculate Costs:
  • SP - SCO - Recalculate Costs (SCO Recalculate Costs).

The macro runs in the context of the current Planning Engine, therefore, is to be run through Planning Engine Details or from a plan-sheet. The workflow can also be run directly through Execute Workflow.

These plan-sheets are updated to add a menu shortcut to the SCO Recalculate Costs macro:
  • SCO_Costs Chart (Costs Chart)
  • SCO_Costs (Costs)
Note: This feature is enabled after loading the base template (base.zip) and Planning Engine SP SCO template (apsco.zip) for this release at which point the standard Planning Engine definition (SP_SCO) is updated. New instances of the Planning Engine created from this definition includes this feature. You are not required to have a new role or privilege access to use this feature.
