Defining weekly calendars
To create a weekly calendar:
- Select Configuration > Common > Calendar .
- Click New and select Weekly Calendar.

Specify this information in the Calendar Details tab:
- Name
- The name of the calendar.
- Display Name
- The name to be displayed in the application.
- Status
- The status of the calendar. Possible values:
- Ready: The calendar is created and can be used.
- Building: Processes are executed to create the calendar.
- Invalid: An error occurs when creating the calendar. You can view the details of the error on the Audit Log page.
- Type
- Indicates the calendar type. This value is based on the calendar selected when you click New.

Specify this information in the Calendar
Format tab:
- First Month Of Year
- The month from which the calendar starts.
- First Week Of Year
- The day of the month, which is required to
determine the first calendar week of the year.
The first calendar week:
- Contains 1st of Month
- Contains 2nd of Month
- Contains 3rd of Month
- Contains 4th of Month
- Contains 5th of Month
- Contains 6th of Month
- Contains 7th of Month
- First Day Of Week
- The day with which a calendar week begins. For example, Sunday or Monday.
- Weekly Pattern
- A repeating pattern for the number of weeks in
each planning month. The pattern contains 12 digits that add up to 52 weeks.
Possible values:
- 445
- 454
- 544
- 13*4
- For example, for a calendar with June as the first month of the year, the 445 pattern represents a four-week planning month for June and July, a five-week planning month for August, and so on.
- Year Definition
- The planning year used for labeling periods.
Possible values:
- Year of First Month
- Year of Last Month
Note: If the Year of First Month is not January, for each fiscal year, dates for two calendar years exist. The value in this field is used to determine the year that must be used. - For example, for a fiscal monthly calendar running from June to May 2018 with the Year Definition set to Year of Last Month, the calendar span the dates June 1st 2017 – May 31st 2018. If the Year Definition is Year of First Month, represents dates June 1st 2018- 31st May 2019.
- Add 53rd week to Month
- The month (1-13) in which must add an extra week, if required. For example,
if the first month of the year is June and this field is set to 12, the 53rd week is added to the month May.
Note:
- If the Override Pattern is specified for a year, the 53rd week is determined by the override pattern.
- The value 13 is displayed only if the Weekly Pattern is set to 13*4.
- Add Extra Month to Quarter
- The quarterly period of the year to which the additional month is
added.Note: This field is displayed only if the Weekly Pattern is set to 13*4.

Specify this information in the Hierarchy
Levels tab:
- Enable Part Weeks
- If this option is set to On, the weekly calendar
is created that supports part weeks. This allows you to view the data in the
weekly and monthly format. The data for the scenarios is stored at the part
level. Note: By default, this option is set to Off. The user is not required to specify the format for part weeks at the calendar level. assigns the suffix A and B to the weekly format.
- Year Format
- The format in which the yearly time period must
be displayed. A default format is displayed, which can be modified.
Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Years option is set to On.
- Quarter Format
- The format in which the quarterly time period
must be displayed. Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Quarters option is set to On.
- Month Format
- The format in which the monthly time period must
be displayed.Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Months option is set to On.
- For example, If the Year Definition is set to Year of Last Month, for a year starting in April 2018 and ending in March 2019, April 2018 is the first planning month of planning year 2019. To create a label FY19 M01 for this month, use the format 'FY%yy/%mm'.
- Week Format
- The format in which the weekly time period must
be displayed. . Note:
- This field is enabled only if the Enable Weeks option is set to On.
- To modify the default display format for the year, quarter, month, and week, see Formatting calendar hierarchy levels
- Part Week Format
- The format in which the Part Week time period must be
displayed.Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Part Weeks option is set to On.
- Day Format
- The format in which the daily time period must be
displayed.Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Days option is set to On.

Click the Monthly Calendar Hierarchy
Levels tab. This tab allows you to specify the time periods (Year,
Month, Quarter) for which the plan data can be reported.
Note: This tab is displayed only if Enable Part Week is set to On.

Specify this information:
- Primary Calendar
- Indicates if the Monthly Calendar is considered as the Primary
Calendar.Note: If this Option is set to Off, Weekly calendar is considered as Primary calendar.
- Enable Calendar Years
- Indicates that the ‘Year’ option is available in the calendar hierarchy.
- Enable Calendar Quarters
- Indicates that the ‘Quarter’ option is available in the calendar hierarchy.
- Enable Calendar Months
- Indicates that the ‘Month’ option is available in the calendar hierarchy.
- Calendar Year Format
- The format in which the calendar year must be
displayed in the Calendar hierarchy, when you run the cycle period using the
part weeks. Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Calendar Years option is set to On.
- Calendar Quarter Format
- The format in which the calendar quarter must be
displayed in the Calendar hierarchy, when you run the cycle period using the
part weeks. Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Calendar Quarters option is set to On.
- Calendar Month Format
- The format in which the calendar month must be
displayed in the Calendar hierarchy, when you run the cycle period using the
part weeks. Note: This field is enabled only if the Enable Calendar Months option is set to On.
- Click Add on the Year Details tab.

Specify this information:
- Year
- The number of years available in the calendar hierarchy.
- Override Pattern
- The user defined weekly pattern (different from
the standard pattern), that enables you to modify the calendar's Weekly Pattern data.
Note:
- If you specify an override pattern for a year with 53 weeks, ensure the pattern contains 12 digits that add up to 53 weeks. For example, 445445445455.
- You can only use the digits 4, 5, and 6.
- Click Add. A new Year Details is added to the list.

Submit.
Note: To view the tree structure of a calendar, with the status Ready, click Preview in the Details pane.
