Defining SCV BOI

A Business Object Interface (BOI) describes the target and source object names, input parameter or filter conditions (used while importing from the Source object) and field-level mappings between the target and source objects and so on. Also, BOIs are used to describe the import and export interfaces of the SCV integrations.

To create a new BOI:

  1. Select Configuration > SCV > BOIs > BOI.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    A unique name of the BOI.
    Note: You cannot modify the Name after the BOI is created.
    Description
    The description of the BOI.
    Note: You cannot modify the Description for system defined BOIs.
    Direction
    The direction of the interface as specified by the BOI. Possible values:
    • Import: Used for Import process.
    • Export: Used for Export process.
    Note: You cannot modify the Direction for system defined BOIs.
    SCV Application
    The SCV application available in the BOI.
    Note: 
    • You can specify a new SCV application name for custom integration using ‘Add’.
    • You cannot modify this value for System defined BOIs.
    Enabled
    Indicates the status of the BOI. Possible values:
    • On (Active)
    • Off (Inactive)
    Note: 
    • By default, the field is set to On.
    • The active BOIs are only used by the Import/Export Planning Data and Export/Import Model Data process while executing the BOIs.
    System
    Indicates if the BOI group is system defined or user defined.
    Note: 
    • The User Definition field is displayed if the System is set to Off.
    • The User Definition and the System Definition fields are displayed only if the System is set to On.
    User Definition
    The user defined SCV Application mapping.
    Note: The BOI XML formats are application specific.
    System Definition
    The system defined SCV application mapping.
    Note: The BOI XML formats are application specific
    Override
    If this check box is selected, the system BOI definition is overridden with a user definition.
    Note: This field is displayed when modifying a system defined BOI.
  4. Click Save. A new BOI is created after successful validation of the specified information.
    Note: You can use this page to:
    • Create a duplicate of the existing BOI and modify the parameters as required using the Duplicate option.
    • Delete BOIs using the Delete option.
