Example
This is a model example for importing quantity.
Scenario 1: Import quantities for regular class Products
These criteria must be met before importing:
- Resource reference must be provided for the Products class in the mapping.
- Referenced Product resources must be imported before importing the quantities for Products.
This table describes the mapping process to import quantity values for Products at Locations:
Mapped field | Description | Import Value (for example) |
---|---|---|
Products.name | Reference to Products resource | Product A |
Products.units per transport unit | Value of property “units per transport unit” for Products resource and bucket | 100 |
bucket | Bucket reference in which to import property value | FY19 W42 |
These resources must exist for references before importing:
- Products resource: ‘Product A’
- bucket: ‘FY19 W42’
The units per transport unit property is updated with quantity value 100, for Products resource ‘Product A’ at bucket ‘FY19 W42’.
Scenario 2: Import quantities for Products At Locations Allocation class with components Products and Locations
These criteria must be met before importing:
- Resource references must be provided for Products and Locations in the mapping.
- Referenced resources for Products and Locations must exist.
- Products At Locations resources must be imported before importing the quantities for Products At Locations.
This table describes the mapping process to import quantity values for Products at Locations:
Mapped | Description | Import value (for example) |
---|---|---|
Products.name | Reference to Products resource | Product A |
Locations.name | Reference to Locations resource | Location X |
Products At Locations.qty on hand | Value of ‘qty on hand’ property for Products At Locations resource | 100 |
Products At Locations.shelf life | Value of ‘shelf life’ property for Products At Locations resource | 180 |
bucket | Bucket reference in which property value is to be imported | FY19 W42 |
These resources must exist for references before import:
- Products resource: ‘Product A’
- Locations resource: ‘Location X’
- Products At Locations Allocation resource for components: Product ‘Product A’ and Location ‘Location X’
- bucket: ‘FY19 W42’
The qty on hand and shelf life property values are updated with 100 and 180 respectively, for Products At Locations resource ‘Product A@Location X’ at bucket ‘FY19 W42’.
Scenario 3: Import quantities for ‘Customer Allocations’ allocation class with components Products At Locations and Customers
These criteria must be met before importing:
- Resource references must be provided for Products At Locations and Customers. References to Products At Locations must be provided as references to the Products and Locations components as Products At Locations is an Allocation class.
- Customer Allocations resources must be imported before importing quantities for Customer Allocations.
This table describes the mapping process to import quantity values for Customer Allocation:
Mapped field | Description | Import value (for example) |
---|---|---|
Products.name | Reference to Products resource | Product A |
Locations.name | Reference to Locations resource | Location X |
Customer.name | Reference to Customers resource | Customer 1 |
Customer Allocations.forecast | Value of property “forecast” for Customer Allocation resource | 100 |
Customer Allocations.orders | Value for property “orders” for Customer Allocation resource | 85 |
Bucket | Bucket reference in which to import property value | FY19 W42 |
It is determined that the import process considers ‘Customer Allocations’ class based on the property references specified for Customer Allocation.
These resources must exist for references before importing:
- Product: ‘Product A’
- Location: ‘Location X’
- Customers: ‘Customer 1’
- Products At Locations Allocation resource: ‘Product A@Location X’
- Customer Allocations Allocation resource: ‘Product A@Location X@Customer 1’
- Bucket: ‘FY19 W42’
The forecast and orders property values are updated with 100 and 85 respectively, for Customer Allocation resource ‘Product A@Location X@Customer 1’ at bucket ‘FY19 W42’.
