Validation and error messages

The planning engine is uploaded after successful validation of the specified information. The uploaded planning engine includes:
  • The planning engine data.
  • The versioned configuration of the planning engine.

These rules are applicable for uploading the planning engine:

  • The planning engine definition is the versioned configuration and is stored within the planning engine. However, the planning engine definition that is referenced in the planning engine does not require to be stored in the SCP instance.
  • The standard configuration is not required to restore a planning engine as the planning engine is not linked to the configuration when created. If required, the planning engine definition, plansheets, interface services, and calendars must be extracted as standard or override templates and loaded separately.
  • Planning engines created using an earlier version of SCP can be uploaded. Possible scenarios:
    • The new fields that are added in later versions does not impact the uploaded planning engine.
    • The new features and functionality can be executed or disregarded on earlier versions of Planning engines.
  • The uploaded planning engine is created as an adhoc Planning Engine without cycle information and the status is set to Running.
