<Glossary>
audit logs
Predefined messages that track events that occur during the supply chain
planning process.
business metrics
Measures and calculations which are defined to be
stored at specified dimension elements for exporting, searching, and
notification on specific metric values.
calculation rules
The rules for calculations are created based on the existing measures. To perform
calculations on these measures for use within worksheets, simple or expert calculation rules
are used. Several calculation rules are predefined within the application.
calendar
A register of time periods, such as weeks, months,
quarters, and years on which all plan data is based.
calendar hierarchy level
A time period in a calendar, such as year, month,
quarter, and week, and with a corresponding level of time detail for which plan
data can be generated.
code list
A list of common elements for use within the application, either as a definitive list available for selection or to represent a level within a hierarchy. Some code lists, such as Units of Measure and Currencies, are predefined. User-defined code lists, such as items and locations, represent the elements available in SCP.
cube
A multi-dimensional store of data that is aggregated
to consolidated levels of the dimension hierarchies.
cycle
A set of business plans or scenarios for a specific
business cycle type during a cycle period. Examples of business cycles:
- Normal business planning cycle
- Large unusual demand
- Major customer cancels contract
- M&A activity
- Factory burns down
- Strike at distribution center
- Natural disasters
cycle period
An instance of a cycle that defines the planning frequency. For normal business processing, for example, a monthly SCP process is run, which requires a cycle period for each month plans.
dimension
In SCP, the method in which a measure, that is, a data row, is stored.
SCP has five standard dimensions:
- Items
- Locations
- Periods
- Measures
- Scenarios
integrated business plan
The business plan or scenario that results from
merging the finance, demand, and supply business plans.
job
A process run in the background and initiated when a
user executes a macro or starts a new cycle period.
Infor Demand Planning
An application that simplifies and accelerates the forecasting process using innovative
technology and sophisticated forecasting method.
Infor Integrated Business Planning
An application that builds a sales and operations planning process on a technology
platform which structures collaborative planning across the enterprise. The application
streamlines the analysis of tradeoffs, improves decision making and align the organization in
creating an intelligent response to market dynamics, using a shared platform, a common
planning repository and KPIs.
Infor Production Scheduling
A collaborative, constraint-based scheduling solution that addresses unique scheduling
challenges faced by process manufacturers.
Infor Supply Chain Planning
A component with which decision makers can achieve
consensus on a single operating plan that matches demand and supply while
meeting the overall business objective.
Infor Supply Planning
An application that helps to improve performance and profitability by optimizing an
organization’s manufacturing and supply chain plans. The application also helps digitally
transform processes from planning to delivery within and outside the enterprise.
macros
A set of predefined commands required to automate tasks.
mapping
In SCP, mappings define the relations between nodes in planning hierarchies and the sub-levels.
market intelligence (MI)
The analysis of the day to day data of a target market which is used to optimize
decision making and develop effective strategies.
measure
In SCP, a data row.
notes
For each cycle period and scenario, messages that are
used as an audit trail of the decisions taken and the assumptions used. Notes
have either a fixed or a free-text format.
orders
Transactional Data measures of type 'Transfer' which is mapped to a Cycle’s
Replenishment Engine.
planning hierarchy
A classification of items or locations based on which plan data can be reported in SCP. An item hierarchy contains a classification of items and a location hierarchy contains a classification of locations defined in SCP.
playbook
A collection of worksheet reports along with
associated (notes) texts for a cycle period, that can be exported to another
file format and then used in presentations or meetings.
repository folder
A storage location for data that is related to
worksheets. Only one repository folder can be used at a time.
role
Based on an employee's function, a set of predefined
permissions that can be assigned to an individual user or user group.
SCP
See Infor Supply Chain Planning .
SCV
Supply Chain Vault. Provides an integration between SCP and external
applications.
scenario
Within a cycle period, a business plan that is linked
to a business area, for example, demand and supply.
scenario process
Specifies the status transitions that are available
for a specific scenario in each cycle period and the process steps that are
required to complete the scenario. A process step can have a linked workflow
definition that controls the steps or actions that are required to progress
through each status.
scenario status
The status of a scenario can be:
- Aborted
- Approved
- Published
- Rejected
- Review
- Stopped
- WIP
supply plan
The business plan or scenario that describes how the demand for
the relevant items must be filled. A supply plan comprises the combination of
the purchase plan, the manufacture plan, the distribution plan, and the
inventory plan.
transactional data
A non-OLAP calculation used to retrieve the scenario values from transactional records.
There are two types of Transactional Data such as Sum and Transfer.
workbook
A grouping of worksheets.
workflow
Controls and monitors the overall process and each
scenario. A workflow issues tasks and alerts to the participants in the
process.
worksheet
In SCP, multidimensional reports and analytics that are used to view, review, and adjust the scenarios within each business area. Advanced users and PSO teams can create additional worksheets using Application Studio.
