Scenario Comparison layout improvements

The supply planning scenario comparison process has been enhanced for performance and scalability. Customers reported performance issues with the existing scenario comparison worksheet, particularly when additional supply scenario has been added to the cycle.

A new multi-panel worksheet "3. Scenario Comparison" is added to the Planning workbook to support comparing the detailed plan information of 2 supply scenarios.

The selected scenario in data context is displayed by default, across these four detail panels, displaying different aspects of the supply plan:

  • Alerts
  • Resource
  • Revenue and Cost View
  • Stock - displayed, by default.

The Alerts, Resource and Revenue and Cost View detail panels are selected from the previous release; however, now presented for side-by-side comparison between two scenarios. The Stock panel is newly added as a brief inventory view, for comparison. This differs from the existing Stock views included in other worksheets, which remain unchanged.

A new Scenarios panel lists the scenarios available to the user, allowing to change the scenario for comparison. Selecting from the Scenario list, updates the scenario context of the "comparison panel", displaying the supply plan for the selected scenario across the same four detail panels.
Note: The multi-panel worksheet: “3. Scenario Workbench” (SPLS_Scenarios) from previous releases is updated with the "SPLS-Deprecated" tag as part of this update. To continue using this version, a copy must be created and the tag updated to link the worksheet to existing supply cycles. This configuration is not recommended for cases where performance or scalability issues have been observed in the worksheet.

This feature is enabled after appending the Supply Planning template (spls.zip) for this version.

By default, this feature is enabled and no additional role or privilege is required to access this feature. The new Scenario Comparison worksheet is available to the same standard roles that could previously access 3. Scenario Workbench.
