Refresh business metric values for a cycle

Business Metrics are used to specify the measures and calculations that are stored at the specified dimension elements, for export. The metrics are also used to search and generate notifications for specific values. However, these values must be modified (requires an update of the data) when you perform certain actions, that require the retrieval of the latest values.

The actions that trigger an update (refresh) of the business metric values:

Action (macro command) Description
CallForecastEngine When the spreading measure is specified as a parameter or is defined in the forecast engine settings.
Note: The business metrics values for History, Weight, or Mask measures, configured based on the Forecast Engine settings, are not updated.
CopyCyclePeriodData When a measure is specified as a parameter or all the related business metrics (for the source module) are specified as the parameter.
CopyLastPeriodMeasure When a measure is specified as a parameter or all the related business metrics (for the module) are specified as the parameter.
CopyScenarioData When a measure is specified as a parameter or all the related business metrics (for the module) are specified as the parameter.
Note: This is only applicable when you copy a scenario, using the macro command.
RunMapping When a measure is specified as a parameter, or all related business metrics (for the source module) are specified as the parameter.
Supersession When a measure is specified as the From measure code parameter.
Note: The macro supports multiple levels (such as A > B > C). However, it is not optimal to refresh business metric values only at the start of the process; because the data is used later in the process and is updated because of the supersession link (for example, the value of A is transferred to B, and consequently must be updated before the value is transferred to C). Therefore, the data for each element and the related item must be updated.
Scenario value exports (manual or RunInterfaceService) When a measure is specified for the interface service, or all related business metrics (for the module) are specified as the parameter.
Note: Select the After Saving Scenario Changes check box, in the Automatically Update Business Metric pane to update the values when you save the changes in a scenario.
