Deleting MI events

To delete MI Events, access the worksheet of the type, Market Intelligence and select the required MI Events. The Delete Selected option in enabled.
Note: The Delete Selected option is enabled only if:
  • The user has the required permission to delete MI Events.
  • The scenario is editable by the current user.
  • All the selected events must exist at a level for which the user has access. For example, the user must have access to the related item and location at which the MI Events are created.

When you click the Delete Selected option, the deletion process is started as follows:

  • The process locks the scenario. During the process of locking the scenario, a progress bar with an Abort option is displayed.
    Note: 
    • The Abort option is not displayed once the scenario lock is approved.
    • If the user clicks the Abort option, the MI Events are deleted.
  • MI Events with status Approved are set to ‘Pending Delete’ and are not displayed for the users with edit access. However, the MI Events are displayed for the users with Read only access.
  • MI Events with status Pending are deleted immediately as the MI Events have not yet been saved as part of the scenario.
  • The values are deleted from the base elements of the measure for the selected MI Events.
  • The measure values are updated in the editable scenario with the latest MI values.
  • The data in the open worksheets is re-calculated based on the latest MI values.
  • The updated value in the measure is not displayed for users with Read only access.
    Note: This is only applicable for deleted Approved MI Events, as the values are not displayed for Pending MI Events in the worksheets.

When the deletion process is completed, the scenario can be saved as follows:

  • The updated measure values for scenarios are saved and displayed for all users.
    Note: This process is not applicable for the MI Events which had a status Pending prior to deletion.
  • The Event is permanently deleted.
  • The associated note for the MI Event is deleted.
  • This message is logged to the Audit log for Approved MI Events which have been deleted:
    MI Event Deleted for measure {0} at item {1} and location {2} with reference {3}
    .
  • All worksheets are recalculated to display the latest values.

If the scenario changes are discarded:

  • The status of the MI Event is set to Approved.
    Note: MI Events which had a status Pending are not restored.
  • The measure values in the editable scenario are updated to the original values.
  • The associated note for the MI Event remains.
