Creating a price change

You can create a REG, TPR, or MKD price change.

  1. Click Create Price Change. The Create Price Changes page is displayed.
  2. Select a Price Type, and then specify a Price Change Description.
  3. Add locations for the price change in the Location Information section. You can:
    • Click the hierarchy to apply to the price change. If your retailer is using alternative hierarchies, they are displayed. Then, select a location or location level from the Select Location list. You can use the Search field within the Select Location list to search for a specific location. You can expand the location levels to view all the locations within your supply chain. You can select multiple locations.
Note: If you select a location level higher than Store in the Select Location list, the Locations to exclude list field is displayed.
    • Click Store ID(s) to specify the individual stores in the field. You can specify multiple store locations separated by a comma (,), semi-colon (;), or a pipe (|).
  4. You can select stores that make up the location level(s) you applied from the Locations to exclude list field to exclude stores from the price change. You can select multiple stores within the applied location level. See Location exclusions.
  5. Add items to the price change. You can:
    • Specify an item ID in the Enter Item IDs field and then click Add to add a single item to the price change. You can specify multiple item IDs separated by a comma (,), semi-colon (;), or a pipe (|) to add multiple items.
    • Specify an item scan code in the Enter Scan Codes field and then click Add to add a single item to the price change. You can specify multiple scan codes separated by a comma (,), semi-colon (;), or a pipe (|) to add multiple items.
    • Click Advanced Item Select and specify additional search criteria to find items you want to add to the price change. Select the item(s) and click Add. Click Cancel to cancel adding additional items. You can click Export to download a CSV file of the item details you select.
    • Click Add Rows to add additional items inline to the price change.
  6. Specify the Price.
Note: MKD and TPR price changes must have a lower price than the regular retail price of the item.
  7. Specify or select additional attributes for the price change in the Item Information table. You must specify all the required fields displayed with a red dot to complete the price change.
Note: Location Override is automatically defaulted to Yes for initial price changes, even if you select No. This allows the system to hold that initial price at the highest location and price priority over any subsequent price changes. For more information, see Location override.
  8. Select the dates for the price change:
    • Select a Start Date for a REG or MKD price change. The End Date field does not display for REG or MKD price changes.
    • Select a Start Date and End Date for a TPR price change. TPR price changes must have an End Date.
    • Optionally, you can add a Reset Date to an MKD price change to reset the item's price back to the REG or initial price on that date.
  9. Click Save for the price change to remain in a draft status. Optionally, click Save and Approve to approve the price changes. A green validation message is displayed for successfully created price changes. If a price change was created with an error or with a price conflict, a red validation message is displayed for that price change.
Note:  You must resolve any validation errors that display to successfully submit the price changes. You can click the details of an error to learn how it can be resolved. Optionally, you can click the alerts in the Alerts column of the Price Change List to view the error details. If validation errors exist due to a store or set of stores with a conflict, Price Management suggests to exclude these locations. See Excluding locations from approving a price change with alerts.
  10. Click Load Changes to load the price change(s) into the Price Change List so that they are displayed.
    Caution:
It can take up to three minutes for a new user's role and permissions to take affect. If you are a new user, you may not be able approve a price change immediately after your user was created. You can click Save for your price change to remain in draft status until your user is fully created in the system.
