Creating price change attributes

To create a price change attribute, you must select a Data Type, add a Default Value, and specify additional attribute characteristics.

  1. Log in as the system or IT administrator.
  2. Select Navigation Menu > Price Change Attribute Management.
  3. Click Create Attribute. The Create Price Change Attribute page is displayed.
  4. Specify this information:
    ID
The attribute ID. This is a unique identifier used to identify attributes in the downstream systems.
    Name
    The attribute name.
    Import Field Name
The name for the attribute that displays during the price change import process. This is used as the column header when importing price changes.
Note: The Import Field Name can only contain alphanumeric characters. Use underscores (_) as a delimiter between words. You cannot use spaces.
    Required
If the attribute is required during the price change creation process. If you select Yes, the price change attribute must be specified when you create a new price change.
Note: If the attribute is required, Price Management automatically applies the attribute to existing price changes and displays the Default Value in the user interface.
    Export Downstream
If the attribute can be exported to any downstream systems associated with the application. If you select No, the price change attribute exists only in Price Management
  5. Select a Data Type for this attribute. You must specify additional information for the data type you select. For more information, see Default value and validation rules.
  6. To restrict the attribute to a specific price change type, select Restricted. If you select Restricted, a Price Type list is displayed. You must specify at least one price change type if you select Restricted.
Note: If the attribute is set up without a restriction so it can be used by all price types, you cannot later update the Restricted setting.
  7. Click Save.
Note:  If errors exist, they are displayed when you attempt to save the attribute. You must resolve any validation errors to successfully submit the price change attribute.
The Price Change Attribute Management page is displayed with a success validation message. The created attribute is listed in the table. New and existing price changes can automatically use the created price attribute.
    Caution:
New attributes may take up to three minutes to sync to the system. If an attribute is still being processed, it cannot be deleted or modified until the synchronization process is completed. You must refresh the Price Change Attribute Management page for the system to display the updated status for the synchronization process. You can view the Status column in the table to view the synchronization status of the price change attribute.
