Price change types

You can create different types of price changes for different business needs. Price changes can have a Price Type of:
Regular (REG)
Open-ended and point-in-time price changes for everyday regular prices. For new items, a regular price type is also an initial price change.
Temporary (TPR)
A price change that temporarily reduces the price of an item and has a specified end date. TPR price changes are used for promotions or drive time events to help drive sales. After a TPR price change reaches its End Date, the item impacted by the TPR is returned to its REG price.
Markdown (MKD)
A price change with a reduction in the regular retail price of an item designed to move/sell remaining inventory. MKD price changes are designed to be open-ended until the next reduction in the price. You can add a Reset Date to a MKD price change to reset the item's price back to its REG or initial price.
Rewards (RWD)
A price change that offers customers included in the retailer's loyalty program a discounted price for an item. RWD price changes act like a TPR price change for the applied item/location/date combinations. RWD price changes use a percentage (%) off the current in-effect price for that item instead of an in-effect price of its own. When you view an RWD price change, the price is $0.00 and the application uses the applied Rewards % Off value for loyalty customers.
Caution:
TPR, MKD, and RWD price changes may not be available depending on your business or how the application was implemented. Work with your system administrator to configure these price changes so they can be used in the application.
