Competitors
Changing the channel after starting to collect market data requires a reset. The reset risks that the engines will not feed with enough market data to produce the most accurate optimization.
RMS gathers rates for the number of guests that is defined in your property setup. If the defined reference number of guests for the property is single occupancy as that is the rate you manage the most, RMS will retrieve rates for single occupancy only.
You can select one of these channels:
- Booking.com
- Expedia.com
- Trip.com
Once you selected your preferred channel, select Competitors screen.
to display theThe Competitors screen is where you can add, remove and adjust competitors.
It contains these main components:
- Search field: Search for a competitor within the list. If the search result does not display the competitor that you want to select, you can do an extensive search. Within the search result, Select the link that is displayed next to the search field. A window is displayed where you can type the full competitor name. Select then select the competitor.
- Competitors cards: Each card displays the name, review score, property type and star
rating of a competitor. You can select and adjust the details of a competitor using these
cards. Competitor details adjustments is enabled only for selected competitors.Note: Select to add the competitor to the graphical representation of competitors on other screens.
- Interactive map on the right side of the screen. The map can also be used to select
competitors by Selecting the pins. These details can be displayed within the map:
- Orange pin that represents your property.
- Gray pin that represents possible competitors that are not selected.
- Blue pin that represents selected competitors.
Adding and removing competitors is available only for properties with Infor integrated market data.
