Rate Categories

The Rate Categories screen displays the list of defined rate categories.

Navigate to Menu > Setup > Configuration > Rate Categories.

For each rate category, these details are displayed:
  • Order: Indicates the importance of the rate category in terms of prices and LOS (Length Of Stay) optimization. In the Multi-Day Decision screen, if restrictions are enabled, the rate categories are displayed based on the defined hierarchy, where the lowest one is displayed first.
  • Rate Category: Rate Categories are extracted from the PMS. They can be managed from this screen.
  • Description: Short descriptiion of the rate category.
  • Dynamic: Average discount that rate codes in this rate category have on BAR/unrestricted rates.
  • Group: Indicates whether the rate category is used for groups or transient business.
  • Direct: Indicates whether the source of business for a rate category is direct or indirect.
  • Average Discount: Average discount that rate codes in this rate category have on BAR/unrestricted rates.
  • Rate Class: Groupings of rate categories that can be used for optimization, yielding and reporting. Users can create or modify rate classes by typing in a cell in this column. Rate categories with the same rate class are optimized and managed together.
  • Created By: Shows who created the rate category.
  • Creation Date: The date on which the rate category was created.
  • Edited By: Shows who last edited the rate category.
  • Last Edit: The date on which the rate category was last edited.
  • Upload (TARS): Indicates whether a rate category is currently in use by an upload.
    Note: To make changes to Upload settings, navigate to Menu > Setup > Upload interfaces
Within each column of the table header, are these elements:
  • Search field: Specify the text or value to look for.
  • Filter icon: Select the filter criteria.
    • In text columns, this is the sort criteria:
      • Contains
      • Does Not Contain
      • Equals
      • Does Not Equal
      • Is Empty
      • Is Not Empty
      • Ends With
      • Does Not End With
      • Starts With
      • Does Not Start With
    • In date or number columns, this is the display criteria:
      • Equals
      • Does Not Equal
      • Is Empty
      • Is Not Empty
      • Less Than
      • Less Than Or Equals
      • Greater Than
      • Greater Than Or Equals
    • In the Is Active and Use For Upload columns, you can select one of these options:
      • Yes
      • No
Note: On the upper right side of the Rate Categories screen, select Reset to remove any filter that you applied on the table.
