Using Adaptive Media

Adaptive Media automatically generates and serves optimized versions of uploaded images based on device type, screen resolution, and view port size. This improves performance and responsiveness without requiring multiple manual uploads.

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Configuration > Adaptive Media.
  2. Click New to add a new image resolution.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify the name of the image resolution.
    Size
    Specify the maximum width and maximum height in pixels. Specify a value in at least one field.
  4. Click Save.
  5. In the table of image resolutions, select the kebab icon in the last column and click Adapt Remaining. The system retrieves the images that you uploaded in Documents and Media and applies Liferay adaptive media rendering to those images.
    Note: 

    You will see the Preview 1000x0 and Thumbnail 300x300 entries in the table by default because Liferay provides them.
