Working with search results

The search results grid shows the Item Name, Item Number, Description, and Relevancy Score columns. To sort the results, click a column header, and click the same column header again to reverse the sort order. Sorting on the Relevancy Score column enables you to review the highest or lowest scoring items first.

The pagination footer shows the range of results that are currently displayed and the total number of results, for example, showing 1 - 10 of 423. Use the footer controls to move to the first or last page, to move one page at a time, or to specify a page number and move directly to that page. The number of pages is recalculated when you change the Rows Per Page value.

Note: The pagination footer shows the total number of items that match the search. However, you can use the pagination controls to reach only the first 10,000 results. For example, if a search returns 25,000 items and Rows Per Page is set to 10, the footer shows a total of 25,000 results, but you can navigate only as far as page 1,000. If you try to move beyond the last available page, the simulator stays on that page. To review items outside this range, refine the search keyword or sort the results so the items that you intend to review are included in the first 10,000 results.

Viewing the relevancy score

The Relevancy Score modal explains how an item’s score is calculated and which search queries matched the search terms. This helps users understand why items appear in a specific order in the search results. To view the modal, click the score in the Relevancy Score column of the search results.

The modal includes two tabs:

Score Contribution Breakdown by Field: Shows how each field contributes to the overall score.
Matched Search Queries: Lists the queries that matched the user’s search terms.
