Creating categories

Use these methods to create categories:
  • Create categories one-by-one with the Categories form in the Business Center.

    See Infor Rhythm for Commerce Administration Library (Cloud) and select Administrator > Infor Rhythm for Commerce Business Center Administration Guide > Defining items and categories > Categories.

  • Create multiple categories simultaneously using the Bulk Update form in the Business Center. To use this feature, you must specify True in the Items.Bulk Update field in the Application Properties form in the Business Center. Contact an Infor representative to help you set application properties. You can upload this category information:
    • Internal name
    • Name
    • Description
    • Long Description
    You cannot upload category images.

  • Create categories in your ERP. You can create categories in the ERP if your ERP sends information in this xpath in the SyncItemMaster BOD: ItemMaster/ItemMasterHeader/Classification/Codes/Code@listID="CategoryCodeListID". See the cross-BOD document for your ERP and Rhythm for Commerce.
After you create categories, upload images for the categories. These images are displayed on your website.
