Supported actions when impersonating a user

Before impersonating a user, it is crucial that the impersonation request comes from the customer or consumer user. While viewing the web shop as the impersonated user, ensure that you perform only the actions specifically requested by the customer. These are the supported actions in the web shop you can do while impersonating a user:
  • Adding items to the cart

    Items that the user left on their cart are visible to the CSR once they start impersonating. Items added in the cart by the CSR as they stop impersonating are left in the cart. The impersonated user can see the item added to cart when they log in to their account.

  • Comparing items

    Items that the user left on their compare products are visible to the CSR once they start impersonating. Items compared by the CSR are left when the CSR stops impersonating. The impersonated user can see the compared items when they log in to their account.

  • Browsing items

    Browsing through the categories and items available to the impersonated user.

  • Selecting from Multi-customer drop-down field

    If the impersonated user has multiple customers, the CSR can switch and select through the Customer drop-down field.

  • Checkout from the cart

    Placing an order on behalf of the impersonated user has an indicator on the these post-ordering widgets:

    • Order History List
    • Order History Details
    • Dashboard: Order History
    • Dashboard: Latest Order

    The post-ordering widgets has an icon indicator with information such as the name of the CSR. This flags the impersonated user that a certain CSR have placed an order on their behalf.

    Additionally, the Order Confirmation Email Notification is sent to the impersonated user and also have a banner that informs the user that a CSR with their name has placed an order on their behalf.
