Using an Excel file to update attribute values
Before you import an Excel file, ensure that you have
selected the correct accounting entity. If you import a file into the incorrect
accounting entity, then you could lose data.
- Create an Excel file.

Prepare the header row:
- In cell A1, specify Entity_ID.

In the other cells in row A, specify the IDs of the attributes that you
are importing. If an attribute is not localized, specify only the
attribute ID. If an attribute is localized, use this format to include
the locale code:
AttributeID[LocaleCode]
. For example, specify color[sv-SE].

Prepare a data row:
- Repeat step 3 for other entities.
- Save the Excel file.

Import the Excel file.
- Sign in to PIM.
- If multiple accounting entities are available in PIM, ensure that you have selected the accounting entity that you want to use.
- On the dashboard, click .
- Click .
- In the Import to Entity Type field, select the top-level entity type of the entities in the import file.
- In the Attach File field, click the browse button and select the Excel file that you are importing.
- Click .
