Specifying the attributes to use in the web shop

  1. Sign in to the Business Center.
  2. Select Items > Attributes.
  3. Click the key of the attribute that you are configuring.
  4. To display the attribute in the Product Filter widget in the web shop, specify this information:
    Facet Filter
    To display the attribute in the Product Filter widget, select Yes.
    Can Propagate
    Specify when this facet is displayed in the Product Filter widget. Select No to display the attribute only if a product in the category that the user is viewing has the attribute. Select Yes to display the attribute when any product in the hierarchy of the category that the user is viewing has the attribute.

    For example, a product has Color as an attribute. The product is assigned to the Shirts category. In the catalog, which is defined in the Business Center, the Shirts category has a parent category of Clothes.

    If you specify No in the Can Propagate field, then Color is displayed in the Product Filter widget when the user is viewing the Shirts category.

    If you specify Yes in the Can Propagate field, then Color is displayed in the Product Filter widget when the user is viewing the Shirts category and the Clothes category.

    Searchable
    To include the values of this facet in the dynamic search feature in the web shop, select Yes. To exclude the values of this facet from the search feature, select No.
  5. In the Product Specifications field, select Yes to display the attribute in the Specifications tab of the Product Details widget in the web shop.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat this procedure for other attributes.
