Relationship type implementation notes

These behaviors are expected when working with relationship types:
  • If the BOD mapping for a relationship attribute is updated or deleted after entities have been replicated, then the replicated entities are still displayed in the relationship tab
  • If a relationship attribute is deleted or removed from an entity type, then the relationship is removed from the Entities form. The related entities are retained in the database.
  • If a related entity is deleted in PIM, then the entity is no longer visible as a related entity in the interface. The entity relationship is retained in the database.
  • If a related entity that exists in PIM is deleted from the ERP, the entity is not deleted in PIM. The entity is still displayed in the relationship tab.
    Note: Entities are not deleted in PIM if they are deleted in the ERP.

  • If an entity with relationships is moved to another entity type that has the same relationship definition, the existing relationships are retained in the Relationship tab.
  • If an entity with relationships is moved to another entity type that does not have the same relationship definition, the existing relationships are removed in the Relationship tab.
