Configuring the Dynamic Search widget

Sign in to Rhythm Portal as a site editor.

Navigate to any page except the checkout page.

On the Dynamic
Search widget, select .

Specify this information:
- Product Details Page points to
- Specify the page to open when a user clicks a category in
the search results.
- Product Search Page points to
- Specify the page to open when a user clicks a product in
the search results.
- Product List Page points to
- Specify the page to open when a user presses the Enter key
in the search box.
- Display Orientation
- Specify how suggested search results are displayed in the
search drop down. You can select Portrait or Landscape.
- Minimum number of characters required to invoke the
Search
- Specify the number of characters users must specify before search results are
returned.
- Show Top Categories
- To show the top categories section, click Yes. The top
categories that are associated with the search results are
displayed.
- Show Top Brands
- To show the brands section, click Yes. The brands
that are associated with the search results are
displayed.
- Maximum Number of Suggestions
- To show the brands section, click Yes. The brands
that are associated with the search results are
displayed.
- Display Top Results images
- Specify whether to show an image for each
product.
- Display Top Categories images
- Specify whether to show an image for each
category.
- Display Top Brands images
- Specify whether to show an image for each
brand.
- Expand Dynamic Search
- Slide the setting to Yes to always display the search box. Slide the
setting to No to display
a magnifying glass button that users click to expand the search box.
- Search Category Dropdown
- Slide the setting to Yes to display
a category field. Users can click the arrow to select a top-level
category from a list, or they can click a category in the category
navigation section on the Product List page. If
a category is selected and search terms are entered, only the
matching products in the selected category are displayed in the
search results. Slide the setting to No to hide the category field.

Click Save.
