Configuring the Mini-cart

A site editor can control the information that is displayed in the mini-cart. Site editors can specify these types of settings:
  • Links to web pages that customers can access from the mini-cart
  • The information that is displayed when the mini-cart is expanded
  • The information that is displayed when the mini-cart is collapsed
  1. Sign in to your website as a site administrator.
  2. If the Edit Controls view is not enabled, click Edit Controls.
  3. On the Mini-cart widget, select Options > Configuration.
  4. Specify the name of these pages:
    • Shopping Cart Page
    • Checkout Page
    • Product Details Page
    • Continue Shopping Landing Page
  5. Specify the information that is displayed when the mini-cart is expanded. These configurations are used for desktops and tablets only. On mobile devices, this information is displayed in the expanded view: sub-total amount, total number of products and quantity of products, View Cart button, and Checkout button.
    Select a Stock Level Indicator type
    Specify whether to display a stock level indicator. Click Icon Only to display an icon that indicates the stock level. Click Text Only to display text that indicates the stock level. Click None to hide stock level information.
    Display images
    To display a thumbnail image of the product, click Yes. To hide images, click No.
    Number of Orderlines to Show
    Specify the number of order lines to show. If the number of order lines exceeds the value that you specify, a link that shows the number of additional order lines is displayed. When customers click the link, the Shopping Cart page is displayed.
  6. In the Mini Cart Information To Show configuration, specify the information that is displayed next to the mini-cart icon. Select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Total Item Quantity The total quantity of all items in the shopping cart is displayed. For example, if the customer has placed 2 units of item A and 3 units of item B in the cart, 5 is displayed.
    Total Item Line The total number of unique items in the shopping cart is displayed. For example, if the customer has placed 2 units of item A and 3 units of item B in the cart, 2 is displayed.
    Order Sub-total The subtotal of the items in the shopping cart is displayed. The subtotal is the cost of the products without taxes and shipping charges. The order subtotal is not displayed on tablets and mobile devices. If you select this option, no information is displayed next to the cart icon on tablets and mobile devices.
    Order Sub-total and Total Item Quantity The total quantity of items and the order subtotal are displayed. On tablets and mobile devices, only the total item quantity is displayed when you select this option.
    Order Sub-total and Total Item Line The total number of unique items and the order subtotal are displayed. On tablets and mobile devices, only the total number of item lines is displayed when you select this option.
  7. Click SAVE.
