Configuring the Product Filter widget
Site editors can specify the type of search that users can run in the Product Filter widget. The Search field is displayed when more than 10 facet values are available in a facet.
- Sign in to Rhythm Portal as a site editor.
- Navigate to the product list page.
- On the Product Filter widget, select Options > Configuration.

Specify this information:
- Filter Bar Location
- Specify the location of the filter selection panel. Ensure
that the option that you select corresponds with the placement of
the filter on the web page.
If you placed the filter to the left of the product list on the web page, then specify Left.
If you placed the filter above the product list on the web page, then specify Header.
- Show Item Count
- Turn on the switch to show the total number of items that match each facet value.
- Hide Invalid Filters
- Turn on the switch to hide facet values that do not match any items.
- Query Type
- Select Contains to include any facet value that contains the search term in the search results. For example, a search for me would match metal and equipment. Select Starts With to include any facet value that starts with the search term in the search results. For example, a search for me would match metal, but not equipment.
- Number of Expanded Filters
- This configuration affects only the desktop view. Specify the number of filters that are expanded when a user first visits the Product List page. You can specify a whole number up to 99. The default value is 3. To expand all filters, specify -1. To collapse all filters, specify 0.
- Click Save.
