Adding product information in inRiver PIM

Use inriver PIM to add detailed information about your products.

The information that you specify in inriver PIM depends upon these factors:
  • The inriver PIM marketing model. The marketing model determines the fields that are available in the interface. The marketing model is set up when inriver PIM is provisioned.
  • The inbound connector between your ERP and inriver PIM. The inbound connector maps information from ERP to fields in inriver PIM. Mappings for all fields in inriver PIM are not required. To map fields, the inbound connector references the ItemMaster BOD. This mapping is set up when inriver PIM is provisioned.

Products from your ERP are loaded into inriver PIM during provisioning. Do not create new products in inriver PIM.

  1. Sign in to inriver PIM.
  2. In the Portal, click the Enrich button.
  3. Locate the product to edit. You can use the Search field to find a product or click the magnifying glass to open the Query Editor.
  4. Click Details.
  5. Specify this information:
    Brief Description
    Specify a brief description to show on the product details page. If you set up special quantity information in your ERP, such as a minimum order requirement, then you can include the information in the brief description. The Brief Description is displayed in the Product Details page under the name of the product.

    Optionally, you can use HTML tags to add formatting to the text.

    Depending on how tenant application properties are set up, this information may be provided by the ERP. If the ERP provides this information, then the description that you specify in the Brief Description field is not used.

    Long Description
    Specify a detailed description of the product. This information is displayed on the Product Description tab of the Product Details page.

    Line breaks and bullet points that you add to the text are also displayed in the web shop.

    Optionally, you can use HTML tags to add formatting to the text.

  6. Complete the attribute information as required for your Marketing Plan.
  7. Click the Media tab.
  8. Click Upload Media.
