Search terms with no results

If a customer specifies a search term that yields no search results, two actions can occur: alternate search terms are suggested, or the customer is informed that no matches exist.

If the Did You Mean function is enabled in the Searchendizing Dashboard in the Business Center, then alternate search terms are suggested when possible. For example, if you sell fountain pens, and a customer enters "fountain pins" as the search term, then fountain pens is suggested as an alternative term. Search results for the first suggested alternative are displayed. If more than one suggested alternative is displayed, customers can click a term to view the results. The Did You Mean function is available in the Dynamic Search widget and the Product Search page.

If the search term yields no results or alternate suggestions, then the search term is recorded as a zero hit. You can use the Zero Hit Management form in the Business Center to review the search terms that yielded zero hits. You can associate the zero hit terms with alternate search terms that do yield results.

See "Searchendizing" in the Infor Rhythm for Commerce Business Center Administration Guide.
