Completing a search
Customers can complete a search in a variety of ways.
Customers can perform one of these tasks:
- With the cursor in the Search
field, press Enter. The Product Search page is opened, and all relevant items are
displayed.
If the Did You Mean function is enabled in the Searchendizing Dashboard in the Business Center, then alternate search terms are suggested if the customer's search term yielded no results. The products that match the first alternative term are displayed. Customers can click other alternative terms to update the results.
If coordinated navigation is enabled on the
widget, then the category navigation panel is updated to show the number of results in each category. The top-level categories are sorted in descending order by number of search term matches. Users can expand the top level-category to view the number of matches in the sub-categories. If users click a product filter, the categories are updated to show the number of results that match the search term and the filter. - Click the item name or View Details button for a top product. The Product Details page for the item is opened.
- Click a brand name. The Product Search page is opened. The results are filtered to show the relevant items that are sold by the brand that the customer clicked.
- Click a category. The Product Search page is opened. The results are filtered to show the relevant items whose parent category matches the category that the customer clicked.
