Entity relationships

You can set up the relationship between two entities. For example, you can specify that one entity is an upgraded version of a second entity.

Set up relationships between items in the ERP. The relationship must be replicated in the ItemMaster BOD.

To view item relationships in PIM, complete these steps:
  1. In the Settings form, specify the types of item relationships. For example, specify Upgrade and Replacement.
  2. In the Entity Types form, specify the mapping of a relationship type to a Source BOD xpath.

You can define a mapping for a particular relationship type once in an entity type hierarchy. For example, parent entity type Clothes has a child entity type of Shirts. You can define a mapping for the Upgrade relationship type in either the Clothes entity type or Shirts entity type, but not both.

You can define a mapping for the same relationship type in sibling entity types. For example, parent entity type Clothes has two children entity types: Shirts and Pants. You can define an Upgrade relationship type on both Shirts and Pants, provided that you have not defined an Upgrade relationship type on Clothes.

  3. On the Translations tab of the Add Relationship dialog, specify the translations for the name and description of the relationship.

After the ItemMaster BOD is replicated, you can view related items of a parent item in the Entity Details form. Use the Related Items tab to view the items for each relationship type.
